Ege \u00dcniversitesi (E\u00dc) Tohum Teknolojisi Uygulama ve Ara\u015ft\u0131rma Merkezi (TOTEM), tohum bilimi ve teknolojisi alan\u0131nda yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131 ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar ve akredite analiz hizmetleri kapsam\u0131nda t\u00fcm payda\u015flar\u0131 ile i\u015f birli\u011fi i\u00e7erisinde \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n\u0131 y\u00fcr\u00fct\u00fcyor. Ege \u00dcniversitesi Rekt\u00f6r\u00fc Prof. Dr. Necdet Budak\u2019\u0131n giri\u015fimleriyle alt yap\u0131s\u0131, laboratuvar olanaklar\u0131 ve akademik kadrosu g\u00fc\u00e7lendirilen, \u00fclkemizin ilk tohumculuk ara\u015ft\u0131rma ve tohum sa\u011fl\u0131k test merkezi olan TOTEM, \u00a0EB\u0130LTEM i\u015f birli\u011fi ile y\u00fcr\u00fct\u00fclen T\u00dcB\u0130TAK Projesi kapsam\u0131nda yerli ve ata tohumlar\u0131n\u0131n genetik miras\u0131n\u0131n korunmas\u0131 amac\u0131yla \u00f6nemli ad\u0131mlar at\u0131yor.<\/p>\n
Merkezin, T\u00fcrkiye\u2019deki ilk tohum merkezi oldu\u011funu ve akreditasyonla birlikte uluslararas\u0131 boyut kazand\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 s\u00f6yleyen Merkez M\u00fcd\u00fcr\u00fc Do\u00e7. Dr. \u0130smail Can Paylan, akreditasyon ile birlikte merkez hizmetlerinin uluslararas\u0131 boyut kazand\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 belirtti. Pek \u00e7ok alanda test ve analiz hizmeti verdiklerini s\u00f6yleyen Do\u00e7. Dr. Paylan, \u201cAkreditasyon ile birlikte farkl\u0131 ve \u00e7e\u015fitli firmalarla \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma f\u0131rsat\u0131 bulduk. Tohum sa\u011fl\u0131k testleri, vir\u00fcs testleri, bakteri testleri, fungan testleri, molek\u00fcler d\u00fczeyde ayr\u0131m testleri gibi hizmetlerimiz var. Kadromuz olduk\u00e7a geni\u015f, genellikle \u00f6\u011fretim \u00fcyelerimizden olu\u015fuyor. Hem kurumsal akredite olduk hem de uluslararas\u0131 boyutta laboratuvar olma \u00f6zelli\u011fi kazand\u0131k. EB\u0130LTEM ile i\u015f birli\u011finde yerli ve ata tohumu \u00fczerinde \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar yapt\u0131klar\u0131n\u0131 belirten Do\u00e7. Dr. Paylan, \u201cEB\u0130LTEM ile i\u015fbirli\u011fi i\u00e7erisinde T\u00dcB\u0130TAK 1004 projesi (M\u00fckemmeliyet Merkezi Destek Program\u0131) olu\u015fturuyoruz. Bu projede genel anlamda yerli ve ata tohumlar\u0131n\u0131n toplanmas\u0131, genetik haritalar\u0131n\u0131n, gen depolar\u0131n\u0131n \u00e7\u0131kart\u0131lmas\u0131 ve dayan\u0131kl\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 ara\u015ft\u0131r\u0131yoruz. Bu konuda \u00e7ok fazla yanl\u0131\u015f bilgi bulunuyor. \u00a0Biz de Ege \u00dcniversitesi olarak konuyu ele almaya \u00e7al\u0131\u015f\u0131yoruz. Yerli tohumlar\u0131n yasa d\u0131\u015f\u0131 olarak yurt d\u0131\u015f\u0131na ka\u00e7\u0131r\u0131lmas\u0131 durumlar\u0131 olu\u015fabiliyor. Dolay\u0131s\u0131yla yerli ve ata tohumlar konusunda bir kafa kar\u0131\u015f\u0131kl\u0131\u011f\u0131 ortaya \u00e7\u0131k\u0131yor. \u00dclkemizin anavatan\u0131 oldu\u011fu tohumlar, bizim ata tohumlar\u0131m\u0131zd\u0131r. Anavatan\u0131 farkl\u0131 bir \u00fclkeye ait olan fakat \u0131slah edilmemi\u015f bir tohum, \u00fclkemizde ata tohum olarak nitelendirilmemelidir. \u00dczerinde \u0131slah \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131 yap\u0131lan tohumlar, ticari tohumlar olarak ge\u00e7er. Yerli tohumlar ise tat ve lezzet a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131ndan \u00f6n plana \u00e7\u0131kan bozulmam\u0131\u015f tohumlard\u0131r. Son y\u0131llarda kullan\u0131lan tohumlar, genel anlamda ticari tohumlard\u0131r. Bu t\u00fcr tohumlar, \u00fczerinde \u0131slah \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131 yap\u0131lm\u0131\u015f; do\u011fal veya do\u011fal olmayan yollarla de\u011fi\u015fiklik yap\u0131lm\u0131\u015f tohum t\u00fcr\u00fc diye nitelendirilebilir. Yerli ve ata tohumlar, s\u00fcrd\u00fcr\u00fclebilir tar\u0131m i\u00e7in uygundur fakat beslenme a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131ndan yeterli olmayabiliyor. Besin miktar\u0131 ve \u00fcretim a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131ndan yerli tohumlar s\u00fcrd\u00fcr\u00fclebilir tar\u0131m\u0131 tam anlam\u0131yla desteklememektedir. Ticari tohumlar biraz daha bunlar\u0131n yerini ald\u0131. Yerel ve ata tohumlar, say\u0131sal olarak az kald\u0131\u011f\u0131 i\u00e7in asl\u0131nda korunmas\u0131 gereken bir genetik mirast\u0131r. TOTEM olarak T\u00fcrkiye\u2019de kimyasal ila\u00e7 kullan\u0131m\u0131n\u0131 azaltmay\u0131 hedeflediklerini belirten Do\u00e7. Dr. Paylan, \u201cTicari tohumlarda firmalar b\u00fcy\u00fck \u00fcretimler yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131 i\u00e7in bize veya ba\u015fka merkezlere ba\u015fvurarak test yapt\u0131r\u0131yor. \u00a0Bizim amac\u0131m\u0131z, elimize ula\u015fan tohumlarda kimyasal tar\u0131m ila\u00e7lar\u0131n\u0131n kullan\u0131m\u0131n\u0131 azaltmak. Yeni tohumlarda, \u0131slah \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131yla beraber eski tohumlara g\u00f6re lezzet s\u0131k\u0131nt\u0131s\u0131 \u00e7\u0131kabiliyor. Yeni tohumlar\u0131n besin d\u00fczeyleri eski tohumlara g\u00f6re daha iyi. Laboratuvar \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmas\u0131ndan \u00e7\u0131kt\u0131\u011f\u0131 i\u00e7in ve firmalar daha \u00e7ok ticaret amac\u0131 d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnd\u00fc\u011f\u00fc i\u00e7in hem daha verimli hem de besin de\u011feri daha y\u00fcksek oluyor. Ancak lezzet olarak eski tohumlar\u0131 ar\u0131yoruz. Yerel ve ata tohumlar\u0131n bulunmas\u0131, kay\u0131t alt\u0131na al\u0131nmas\u0131, \u00fclkemizde tutulmas\u0131 ve en \u00f6nemlisi genetik miras\u0131n korunmas\u0131, yurt d\u0131\u015f\u0131na \u00e7\u0131k\u0131\u015f\u0131n\u0131n engellenmesi i\u00e7in bir proje yap\u0131yoruz. Yerel ve ata tohum dedi\u011fimiz tohum t\u00fcrleri, esasen bizim miras\u0131m\u0131z ve s\u00fcrd\u00fcr\u00fclebilir tar\u0131m i\u00e7erisine girilecekse bu tohum t\u00fcrleri i\u00e7in de hastal\u0131k analiz sistemi konmas\u0131 gerekiyor. Temiz alanlarla yerli ve ata tohumlar\u0131n tar\u0131m i\u00e7erisine sokulmas\u0131 gerekiyor. Yasal bir zorunluluk olmad\u0131\u011f\u0131 i\u00e7in \u00fcreticiler bu i\u015fin i\u00e7erisine girmek istemiyor. TOTEM olarak en b\u00fcy\u00fck iste\u011fimiz, s\u00fcrd\u00fcrd\u00fc\u011f\u00fcm\u00fcz proje \u00e7er\u00e7evesinde, T\u00fcrkiye\u2019de kimyasal ila\u00e7 kullan\u0131m\u0131n\u0131 azaltmak ve tohumlarda hata pay\u0131n\u0131 s\u0131f\u0131ra indirmek.
