\u0130hmal Edilmi\u015f Tropikal Hastal\u0131klar\u0131n\u00a0k\u00fcresel olarak 21 hastal\u0131k ve hastal\u0131k grubunu kapsad\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 belirten Prof. Dr. Meltem Ta\u015fbakan, \u201cBu hastal\u0131klar, mortaliteden \u00e7ok y\u00fcksek morbidite, kronik sakatl\u0131k, organ hasar\u0131 ve sosyoekonomik kay\u0131plarla karakterizedir.\u00a0Bu durum, ihmal edilmi\u015f tropikal hastal\u0131klar\u0131 yaln\u0131zca klinik bir sorun olmaktan \u00e7\u0131kararak, ayn\u0131 zamanda bir kalk\u0131nma ve e\u015fitsizlik meselesi haline getirmektedir.\u00a0D\u00fcnya Sa\u011fl\u0131k \u00d6rg\u00fct\u00fc verilerine g\u00f6re 1,6 milyardan fazla insan, en az bir ihmal edilmi\u015f tropikal hastal\u0131k i\u00e7in risk alt\u0131ndad\u0131r ve her y\u0131l 200 binden fazla \u00f6l\u00fcm, do\u011frudan veya dolayl\u0131 olarak bu hastal\u0131klarla ili\u015fkilidir.\u00a0Bu hastal\u0131klar yoksulluk, yetersiz sanitasyon, temiz suya eri\u015fim eksikli\u011fi, sa\u011fl\u0131k hizmetlerine ula\u015f\u0131m k\u0131s\u0131tl\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131 ile g\u00fc\u00e7l\u00fc bi\u00e7imde ili\u015fkilidir.
