Mekanik ventilasyondan etkilenen akci\u011ferlerin tedavi s\u00fcrecinin zor oldu\u011funu s\u00f6yleyen G\u00fclcan Demir, \u201cBu projeye, COVID-19 pandemisi s\u00fcrecinde \u00e7ok\u00e7a ad\u0131n\u0131 duydu\u011fumuz mekanik ventilasyon uygulamalar\u0131ndan akci\u011ferlerin ciddi \u015fekilde zarar g\u00f6rebilmesi ve bu durumun, tedavi s\u00fcrecini zorla\u015ft\u0131ran \u00f6nemli bir komplikasyon olu\u015fturmas\u0131 nedeniyle karar verdiklerini s\u00f6yledi. Mekanik ventilasyon asl\u0131nda sepsis, KOAH, kardiyojenik veya non-kardiyojenik pulmoner \u00f6dem hastalar\u0131nda ve yo\u011fun bak\u0131m s\u00fcre\u00e7lerinde s\u0131kl\u0131kla kullan\u0131lan bir uygulamad\u0131r. Ventilat\u00f6r \u0130nd\u00fckl\u00fc Akci\u011fer Hasar\u0131 (VILI), mekanik ventilasyonun hastal\u0131k sebebiyle heterojen bir hale gelmi\u015f akci\u011ferlerde olu\u015fturdu\u011fu travmad\u0131r. Desteklenen bu T\u00dcB\u0130TAK projesinde ostol\u2019\u00fcn hem in vitro hem de in vivo etkilerini ara\u015ft\u0131rmak ama\u00e7lanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Bu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fman\u0131n sonu\u00e7lar\u0131n\u0131n bir yarar\u0131 da TRPV4 kanal\u0131n\u0131n, akci\u011fer hasar\u0131na yol a\u00e7an inflamatuvar s\u00fcre\u00e7lerdeki rollerinin daha ayr\u0131nt\u0131l\u0131 anla\u015f\u0131lmas\u0131na olanak sa\u011flamas\u0131d\u0131r. \u00c7al\u0131\u015fman\u0131n sonu\u00e7lar\u0131, \u00f6zellikle mekanik ventilasyona ba\u011fl\u0131 akci\u011fer hasar\u0131 ve Akut Respiratuar Distres Sendromu (ARDS) gibi kritik durumlarda, bu bile\u015fi\u011fin tedaviye y\u00f6nelik bir potansiyeli olabilece\u011fi ortaya \u00e7\u0131kacakt\u0131r.
