Lokal ilerlemi\u015f ve metastatik prostat kanserinde alt\u0131n standart tedavi y\u00f6ntemi olan ve androjen resept\u00f6r\u00fcn\u00fc hedefleyen androjen deprivasyon (yoksunluk) tedavisine ba\u015flang\u0131\u00e7ta iyi yan\u0131t verilse de; bir\u00e7ok hastada yakla\u015f\u0131k olarak iki y\u0131l i\u00e7inde tedaviye diren\u00e7 geli\u015ferek hastal\u0131k prostat kanserinin en agresif ve \u00f6l\u00fcmc\u00fcl evresi olan kastrasyona diren\u00e7li prostat kanserine ilerlemektedir. \u00d6nceleri n\u00fcks eden t\u00fcm\u00f6rlerin androjen resept\u00f6r\u00fcne olan ihtiyac\u0131 by-pass ettikleri d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fclm\u00fc\u015fse de; in vitro, pre-klinik ve klinik \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalardan elde edilen veriler androjen resept\u00f6r\u00fcn\u00fcn tedaviye diren\u00e7li prostat kanserinde halen kritik rol oynad\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 ortaya koymu\u015ftur.
